What makes a promotional video successful?
Nothing is worse than making a video only to find it doesn’t achieve its intended effect. But what makes a video successful? What is the golden tip that makes everyone want to see your video?
Storytelling
If you ask us, a good video is synonymous with good storytelling. Telling a story is what grabs the audience’s attention. And if you do it well, your video will stay in people’s minds for a long time. That’s why we’d like to tell you the golden tip for good storytelling. Are you ready for it?
Be unique!
This sounds very simple in theory, but it’s easy to fall into certain clichés. You don’t want your video to be ‘just another video’. Among all the promotional videos, yours should stand out with head and shoulders. People, after seeing your video, should feel like they’ve seen something they don’t know yet. Something they can’t ignore.
What makes my business unique?
Simply filming a process or taking some footage of the company floor is not enough to grab the attention. That your company can handle a certain volume or you just have a nice new logo on your truck is not enough. In fact, most companies have that and while it is absolutely beautiful and impressive, it will not be the reason people will remember you.
Ask yourself, what does my company have that other similar companies don’t? What makes me so special in the market that people can’t ignore me? That is the subject you should highlight in your promotional film. Your unique selling point, or USP.
Finding your USP
Your USP can be, for example, a special way of producing, a certain product you have, an inspiring story within the company or certain actions and campaigns you participate in. Try to remain authentic and personal, and stick to the core.
For example, do you have employees who go the extra mile for your customers or do you have a very personal drive and passion in your work? Show this! People are looking for a piece of sincerity and authenticity. That stays in people's minds. In this way people immediately build a bond with your company and are more likely to act. That makes your promotional film successful.
